If you use a stand mixer, it will take about 10 minutes at medium speed to mix the dough and another ten minutes in the oven to cook the donuts. To add the lemon flavor we recommend adding a little lemon zest to the paste. If you want to underline the flavor of the lemon you can add a little lemon juice to the icing.
If, however, you only have the usual things you find in the kitchen, you only need 10 more minutes!
Lemon donuts recipe: the ingredients
To make approximately ten donuts you need half an hour (20 minutes of preparation and ten minutes for cooking) and the following ingredients:
- 150 grams of flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Sale q.b.
- 100 grams of milk
- 50 grams of granulated sugar
- 30 grams of melted butter
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 lemon
- A lemon peel
- Vanilla extract
For the lemon icing, however, you should use 150 grams of icing sugar, a fresh lemon for the juice.
Lemon donuts recipe: the procedure
The instructions for use for preparing lemon donuts are few and simple: heat the oven and spray non-stick spray (or a drizzle of oil) into the donut pan.
In a bowl combine flour, yeast and salt and in another mix milk, sugar, eggs, butter, lemon juice and zest with vanilla. Mix everything well and add the ingredients from the first to the mixture in the second bowl.
Spread the batter evenly into the donut mold and bake for about 10 minutes. Once cooked, the lemon donuts must cool.
For the icing, mix together powdered sugar and lemon juice. Stop stirring only when it is well thickened: if it is too much, instead, use a little lemon juice to "dissolve" everything. Dip the lemon donuts in the icing and you're done!
